North Shore Community Bank & Trust
576 Lincoln Avenue, Winnetka, Illinois

This building creatively combines two separate functions behind a unified facade. The single story restored structure, with new addition, accommodates a branch bank facility as well as space for a single commercial tenant.

The bank interior is richly appointed with custom millwork and finishes. Particular attention was given to the client's request for maximizing light and openness while maintaining privacy. The broad curved wall not only provides a visual connection, unifying the deep banking floor, but also shields many internal functions such as processing, employee break room and auxiliary storage from the customer's view.

This project was honored with a Merit Award in 2005 from the National Commercial Builders Council and a Preservation Award in 2002 from the Winnetka Landmark Preservation Commission.
