Exterior View - 'After'

This 6,500 sq. ft. home was design to transcend the typical architectural 'box' that dominates the gentrification of Chicago neighborhoods. The expansive front porch is inviting to guests and provides a comfortable and sheltered respite to view sidewalk activities.

The interiors are spacious and open but demonstrate that careful consideration was given to the comfort of their proportion. Rooms are articulated by a series of arches that span the first floor creating spaces that are defined yet open. The main stair opens up vertically to provide a functional and visual connection between all four living spaces and helps to wash all levels with daylight from the skylights above.

Family comfort and livability were the critical drivers to the homes design which provides four bedrooms on the second floor plus a guest bedroom suite on the third floor and on the lower level.

This project was honored with a Best Single-Family Bronze Award in 2004 from the Illinois Indiana Masonry Council.
