The challenge was to design an addition for a new library and bedroom suite while not detracting from the charm and character of the home. This was achieved by expanding to the west with a footprint that matched the existing living room to the south.

Careful attention was given to replicating the inset brick patterns and exposed timber frame.

In 2004, this project was honored with a First Place Award from the Crystal Design Awards and a Second Place Award from the Chicago Chapter of the National Kitchen and Bath Association
