Northbrook Bank and Trust
1100 Waukegan Road, Northbrook, Illinois

Developed for the site at the intersection of two major roads within the village, our solution addresses the idea of creating an urban gateway to downtown Northbrook. Many complex issues such as vehicular and pedestrian circulation, access from major arterial roads and contextual appearance directed the final design.

The building itself consists of two full stories and a full basement and attic. The main level houses commercial banking services, the second floor houses the Loan Department, executive offices and board meeting rooms with the lower level incorporating the main vault spaces, employee spaces and ancillary storage. The attic has a multitude of functions, form providing additional storage space, access to mechanical equipment, effectively screening that equipment as well as the elevator overrun.

The building free-span is in response to the need for openness and flexibility of space for future growth of what is sure to be a successful community bank.
